BLF FILM FESTIVAL 2009 Update

Ben launched his first youth film festival. The BEN LEE FOSTER FILM FESTIVAL (BLF Film Festival) which was created to inspire youth nationwide with an opportunity to showcase their short films, public service announcements (PSA’s) or music videos with positive messages. The festival was made up of projects made for youth by youth. This venue highlighted their skills and allowed them to express themselves through both film & music.

The MC for the event was Delaware’s own, Celebrity Host, Fred Green.

Joined by him was two Hollywood Celebs, Paige Hurd (“Beauty Shop” & “Everybody Hates Chris”) & Malcolm David Kelley (“Atwoine Fisher Story” & “Lost”).

Collaborated projects created by youth that participated in a movie

making workshop with Ben were showcased along with several projects submitted by youth.

Winners were chosen by creating original material that shared a positive message.

Winner if the Short Film category was Matsy & Lydia Stinson. “Cinderella” is a timeless classic that shows how with little patience and perseverance you can achieve anything, and that if you believe in yourself and stand up for what is right, your dreams will come true.

Winner of the PSA/Commercial category was The Young Generation

(Reggie Young Jr., Jayvaugh Young, Cameron Young & Taniesha Hubbard).

“Domestic Violence” This PSA is to raise awareness about domestic violence.

Winning Artist that shared a motivational song was Nicodemus Williams.

Special performances by Nickayla Tucker (soloist), Derek Murphy (Globe Trotter) & Jarad & Tevin Muse (musicians).

Also featured that evening were two features directed by Ben Lee Foster.

At the closing of the event, the RED CARPET seemed to be another exciting moment. Interviews, pictures, networking, etc. The evening was a BLAST!
